In honor of Educator Appreciation month, for the month of July The Musical Instrument Museum will allow all K-12 Arizona teachers to visit the facilities for free.
MIM offers a way for educators to introduce students to instruments from every country in the world in a fun and exciting manner.
“Educator Appreciation Month gives teachers a firsthand look at what MIM offers to students taking part in a field trip,” said education manager Carly Shaw. “Our wide range of educational programs is designed to inspire learners of all ages and we consistently receive feedback that our activities do just that.”
School fieldtrips to MIM meet Arizona education standards and include curricula for teachers to use with their students before and after their visit, she said.
MIM currently offers four school tours which can be changed to fit the age group and learning objective of the students. The first tour of this school year will be on August 1.
Educator Preview Days on July 28 and 29 and on August 25 will allow teachers to see MIM’s educational offerings. Programming will include information about field trips (both docent-led and self-guided tour options), pre- and post-visit curricula, Student Signature Workshops, and Artist Residency Programs.
To register for the preview, click here. In order to participate, educators must show a school or district issued ID upon arrival (or an affidavit of intent for homeschool educators)
