A season of promise came to a disappointing conclusion for Arcadia on Tuesday, as the Titans lost the Division II state championships in five sets to Flagstaff.

Arcadia will be playing for a state volleyball championship for the second straight season.

Arcadia swept the Ironwood Eagles in a thriller Thursday 25-23, 25-23, 27-25 in the Division II state championship quarterfinals at Ironwood.

Arcadia narrowly defeated the Queen Creek Bulldogs in five sets Tuesday 18-25, 25-11, 25-17, 21-25, 15-8 at home to open the state championship tournament.

Arcadia closed out the regular season Thursday with a sweep of the South Mountain Jaguars 25-13, 25-11, 25-23 at South Mountain.

Arcadia topped the Marcos de Niza Padres Wednesday, sweeping them in the Titans’ last regular-season home game 25-11, 25-16, 25-14 on Seniors Night.

Arcadia dominated the South Mountain Jaguars on Tuesday at home, winning all three sets by a score of 25-7.

Arcadia finished fourth in the silver division of the Nike Tournament of Champions at the Court One complex Saturday.
